If gas reaches you on the stairs before you reach the kitchen, stop there and ring from outside the room. If a burner simply lights late, the floor it sits on changes nothing about the repair — only how far the parts and the tools have to travel to get to it.
A kitchen three flights up
On a narrow lot the house grows upward and the cooking ends up where the light is. The repair itself is unchanged by that. A cooktop up there sits a long way from the meter and a long way from outside air, and both distances show in how the machine behaves rather than in what the fix comes to. Flames that sag the moment the oven joins in point down at the supply. Smoke that hangs about points out at the duct.
Salt and a long duct, together
Air off the sand reaches small steel fixings long before it marks anything you would notice on a stainless front. Screws stiffen, brackets pit, and an electrode that has spent two damp winters in the open starts putting its spark somewhere unhelpful. None of that condemns a Wolf range. It does mean the small ignition hardware is the likeliest thing to be swapped.
Extraction is where the salt and the distance meet. Establish which blower arrangement the house has before deciding a hood is finished: an internal unit, one sitting in the duct run and one at the far end of it all tire differently, and each opens a different job.
